Blacksmith David Core is a member of several professional organizations such as the Appalchian Blacksmith's Association (ABA), The Artists Blacksmith Association of North America, and the West Virginia Education Association.
In addition to his work as a blacksmith Dave is the father of one daughter and takes the time to volunteer at Mason-Dixon Historical Park in Greene County, Pennsylvania.
Below you will find a brief resume of Dave core and Moose Antler Forge.
Dave's commitment to research and continued education has made him a leader in the industry of historical blacksmithing and authentic reproduction. With this commitment comes a responsibility to preserving this nearly lost art and Moose Antler Forge answers this call with live demonstrations at fairs and festivals throughout the year.
The Forge schedule is a busy one, traveling the Appalachian Region displaying the wares and demonstrating the art.

After spending three years in apprenticeship with Appalachian Blacksmith Boyd Holton; David A. Core opened Moose Antler Forge along the creek of Cosgray Run deep in a West Virginia hollow.
Since that day nearly eight years ago Moose Antler Forge has become known for its authenticity in recreating some of the finest ironwares of the 18th and 19th centuries. Some of the fine work of David Core is now displayed in museums, galleries, and personal collections across the United States and around the world.
